It always annoyed me when I’m told – a good belly fat loss diet could achieve 2lbs of fat loss each week.
“Any more than that and you’ll start to shed muscle fibre”.
Or a sound exercise plan could result in you losing the same couple of pounds.
But if you had a good belly fat loss diet AND a good exercise plan – your results didn’t double – they canceled each other out!
Diet seemed to work.
And exercise seemed to work…
But you just can’t seem to get the double benefit of combining both!!!
We’ve all been taught that two pounds a week is the target to lose love handles… Yet there are genuine controlled studies displaying belly fat loss much higher than that.
So is fast weight loss about burning calories? Well the simple answer is No….
There are studies displaying that interval training, whilst burning less calories during the workout, results in a significantly greater overall fat loss than a more energetic workout of calorie burning training…
Also there are studies showing the same total calories burned from weight training and cardio, results in drastically different amounts of fat loss.
So it’s not just about calories…
There are nutrition studies that illustrate altering the source of protein intake doubled the lean mass gains and increased fat shed – without changing total calorie intake or even activity levels.
Another study showed a similar occurrence when you changed the source of dietary fat or carbs. Once more – no change in total calories in, or activity levels (calories out) — but there was a pronounced reduction in body fat.
So after reading differing types of fat loss information, it’s not difficult to arrive at the conclusion:
You shouldn’t believe that it’s only possible to lose 2lbs a week, in fact…
If we concentrate on doing everything the correct way- looking for synergy between the different components for burning our belly fat as opposed to incompatibility and cancelling each other out. – we can ramp all the processes up, and work them all together so that instead of training and dieting for 12 weeks — you’d get great results in less than a month.
